Welcome to my blog - Happy Pi Day!
I love pie! And Pi (π)! A day for geeks (like me) and chefs everywhere to rejoice!
Welcome to "Fat & Fit AF"! I'm not a blogger (yet), but we all start out knowing nothing, and learning as we grow. So here I am. Starting a blog on my website, giving myself MORE to do in my retirement. But you know what, it's actually fun to have the time to give of myself to you, because I GET to, not because I've GOT to! This blog will contain a bunch of different subjects regarding the Fat & Fit life (and yes, we can be and are BOTH), including product reviews, recipes, how-tos, days like today, my musings (or rants or ramblings) of the day and other things, but always keeping Agápē (the love of God) in "AgapeFit", or "AF" (see what I did there?). It's a great place to release my oversharing tendencies, lol. I may even have guest bloggers in the future! I want to keep it light, because there's a lot of heaviness and darkness in the world as it is. A place where you feel warm, accepted, loved. Anyway, here you are and it's 3.14, which is Pi Day!
I love pie. It's a brilliant food, because it can come in a sweet or savory version, with flaky crusts as the perfect vehicle to house the luscious fillings. If graham crackers or nuts form the crust, make it buttery! Mmmmmmmmmm...... Did I mention that I love pie? A lovely, fruity filling, with a flaky (or buttery) crust just satisfies, every time! And tons of freshly whipped cream! A lemon cream or key lime pie will always find room on my plate. And with a good, strong, cup of coffee (another of my culinary loves) - near perfection! Pot pies with top and bottom crusts - yes, please! Here's a picture of some lovely berry pies:

I also like Pi, because to me, it shows God's perfect brilliance, His unconditional love and how infinite He is. His love is circular, with no beginning nor end. He loves us (yes, even YOU) because He loves us (again, even YOU). There's really no reason outside of He IS love. It's nothing we earn. He doesn't love us because of, but in spite of. Everything He does is motivated by love. He so loved the world that He gave (John 3:16). His love knows no bounds and will never end. To me, that's more satisfying than pie or knowing 100+ digits of pi. Though circular, pies have an end, but you can enjoy them while they're there. How can you go wrong with a perfect, loving God, a never-ending number and a delicious food?
For those who don't know (or remember) what pi represents, here you are:

What is pi? Pi is a number that relates a circle's circumference to its diameter. Pi is an irrational number, which means that it is a real number that cannot be expressed by a simple fraction. That's because pi is what mathematicians call an "infinite decimal" — after the decimal point, the digits go on forever and ever. - By Elaine J. So again, welcome to my blog. First blog post - done. It can only get better from here, yes? I believe it will.
Do you like pie? If so, what is your favorite? Leave your favorite flavor(s)/toppings, recipes, etc. in the comments (it's okay to have more than one favorite).
Remember, God loves us because He loves us - really, for no good reason at all, except that He is love. If you have any questions about THAT - you can send email me at jdagapefit@agapefit.org, and we can continue that conversation more deeply.
" In this is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice, full payment) for our sins [past, present, future]." I John 4:10
You are loved!
